Homage to Nathalie Magnan
As part of their mini-residency at Sickhouse, media artist and curator Chloé Desmoiseaux invites you to a special screening dedicated to the life and work of Nathalie Magnan (1956–2016).
Magnan was a pioneering French media activist, cyberfeminist theorist, and filmmaker whose work bridged the gap between feminist theory, internet culture, and experimental video. From co-organizing the early Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival to her influential writings on video art and digital activism, Magnan’s legacy continues to shape the landscape of techno-feminist practice today.
During this intimate screening, Chloé will present a selection of Magnan’s artist shorts, offering a rare glimpse into her visual explorations of identity, technology, and resistance. This event serves as both a tribute to a foundational figure in cyberfeminism and a reflection on the ongoing relevance of her ideas in our current digital climate.
