PLAYTEST Sickhouse's New Arcade

Dutch artists Vincent Schoutsen and Wouter van Veldhoven are joining forces with French artists Leon Denise and Emilie Breslavetz from in.controlab, to develop and build a playful arcade machine. Reflecting on the theme "Alternative control and Resistance" the artists are working together in Enschede to give shape to a robot arcade! The creature will be later installed at the new location of Sickhouse!

Developing their concept together for a few months, they are in Enschede this week to finally give a shape to the "Robotagotchi".

🤖 The robot is emitting a slight signal, which tells us that it is "alive", you are invited to find a way to interact with it looking for emotional reactions. The interaction is about human machine interaction, emotional transfer, AI consciousness, consent...

🦾 We would like to invite you to a Play test session Saturday 15-03 between 13:00 and 16:00. Your experience and interest in the field could help the team to test and if needed improve the player experience . As a playtester you are the first ones trying the arcade, your input will help to make the work better and accessible, it is very valuable for us.

The Arcade will be officially inaugurated in September, during the re-opening of Sickhouse in its new location! This project is a pilot edition and hopefully we will be able to commission several alternative arcades in the years to come.
