 is back in Enschede, and we are excited to host the 2026 edition at GrensFrequentie. Three days of creating, experimenting, learning, and meeting fellow game makers: the perfect way to kick off the year.

On Friday 30th, we’ll start together with the official GGJ kickoff: the global video keynote, the reveal of the secret theme, and a few 

 to spark unconventional ideas and playful approaches.

The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is a worldwide event where people come together to create games in a short time, based on a shared theme revealed at the start of the jam. In just a few days, teams all over the world work in parallel to turn ideas into playable games.

You don’t need to be a programmer to join, 

storytellers, designers, artists, musicians, writers, tinkerers, and curious minds are all welcome

. Come with a team or solo; we actively encourage collaboration and team-building on site. You can 

 to meet other jammers, form teams, and connect before the jam starts.

The most important rules: experiment, collaborate, and have fun.

Sickhouse finally opens the doors to its new home at 

. 
After a year and a half of nomadic existence and navigating all the challenges that come with it, we’re returning with a space of our own. A place to gather, experiment, and play. A home for playful art!

We’re celebrating more than a reopening — we’re celebrating art, culture, community, and resilience. Expect a playful and vibrant program with 

performances, games, films, panel discussions, exhibitions

, and more. 

During the opening we will celebrate and reflect on art space and communities with a documentary project from photographer 

, a playful intervention from artist in residence 

, sound artist, will also present a new interactive version of her installation 

On Friday we will present a dive-in program, developed together with 

 to reflect on feminism, alternative tech, activism within playful programs and the digital culture field.
Friday will also be the moment for some official words, group hugs, multiplayers challenges, music and confetti!

On Saturday after a special french screening for kids, we will host workshops, play music, learn new games, dance and finish the day in the cinema for a midnight screening...
