🕹️ The Ultimate IndieMash is a contest for playful makers from all over the world, to present their work to an international audience. 

> Hosted live from Enschede and streamed online, the participants get 3 minutes each to show their game, interactive project, immersive installation or playful performance, through a live video connection from wherever they are in the world. 
> The challenge is to make the public and the jury want to play their game the most.


> At the end of the program, the public and a jury of professionals will vote for their favourite project.

Besides receiving the Sickest Trophy, the winner of the Ultimate IndieMash will also get a spot at The Overkill Festival 2024! 



Not only are we looking for the most original, extravagant and alternative playful concepts, The Ultimate IndieMash is also a celebration of diversity within the indie-game community. We strongly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in the gaming world. From coding mothers to queer visual artists and indigenous storytellers, everyone is welcome to show their unique projects and creations to our audience online and in the theatre, so sign up now! You don't have to come to the Netherlands to participate, all contestants get to show their project through a video connection!

Meet our first contestant for Sunday show!Representing Italy, Arianna Ravioli is a young game designer that loves telling stories, mostly sad ones. After her studies in Milan, she is currently working for a French indie studio. In her spare time she likes to rate French’s pizza from 1 to 10 .You might remember her from The Overkill last year, we presented her beautiful game "Will Die Alone". It is time to listen to the story that made the game come to life.

Meet our second contestant Julia Makivic Representing Serbia, Julia Makivic is a game designer and creative technologist who divides her time between the UK and Serbia. She creates web-based narrative games and alternative controller games using Raspberry Pi, Arduino and various sensors. Her games explore what it means to have an emotional exchange with a computational system and how our emotions are mediated by technology.

Meet our third contestant Ditto!Representing Sweden, Ditto AKA Anzy makes video games filled with juice and challenge. He thinks games are better when they're a little weird. When he was younger he tried to be cool all the time but then he became (very) old and wise, and gave that up on trying to be cool. That brought him a little bit of peace. Lately, he's obsessed with Devil Daggers.

Meet our fourth contestant for Sickhouse EuroGaming Vision festival!Representing Belgium, Ennio Dal Farra is a globetrotter who started a sedentary life in Brussel 8 years ago. This is where he learned how to make video games, to get his stories and drawings in motion with sound and soul. He likes to explore the edges of interactive art and always look for the surprises to trigger curiosity. His work relates to travel, collective unconscious and alterity.


Meet our sixth contestant for Sickhouse Eurogaming this Sunday!Representing The Netherlands, Alle Jong is an explorer. In his work as an artist, collector, curator, game developer and animator, he travels between past and present, between different media and follows the stories that come his way. In his oeuvre he effortlessly makes connections between 17th, 18th and 19th century artefacts, adventure games from the 80s, giant charcoal drawings and playable video game worlds.In 2016 he curated the video game exhibition 'The Fugue of Play' at the Minerva Academy in Groningen. Jong's aim was that the exhibition could spark meaningful discussions about the future of the video game.

Meet our last contestant for this year Eurogaming vision festivalRepresenting Germany, BBB_ is a technologically advanced cross disciplinary music and performance project.It works on the intersection of music, performance, art, design and contemporary philosophy. It was founded by Alla Poppersoni and Alexander Sahm in early 2015. The project works in live performance and scenographic installations format, experiments with digital voices, natural language processing, brain stimulating music and interactive visuals.With Utopian and Dystopian setups, through experimental sound, intense electronic music and spoken word, artists try to confront the spectator with a situation where human and inhuman conditions merge, speculating on various states of mind, relationships and self-perception, altered by socially and emotionally intelligent technologies.

Meet our fourth contestant Kate Killick!Representing UK, Kate is an independent game creator who left the world of mobile startups to figure out what better floats her creative boat. She released her first solo project, Anxietyware, in 2021, and is now following her curiosity down the rabbithole of puzzle games as part of the Astra Fellowship programme. Past credits include BAFTA-winning game Mush, App of the Year 2016 Hopster and Ready Chef Go, a Snap Game played by over 75 million people.
